Hey Friends!! I hope your summer is off to a great start, and if you’re anything like me, then you can’t wait for warmer weather and adventures! I wanted to share something I’m extremely passionate about that I’ll be participating in this summer in hopes that you’d like to get involved and help out. For the past 10 years, I’ve been participating in a charity road rally event held by an organization called Rally North America (RNA). Over its tenure, RNA has raised and donated over $2M to various charities, and this year we are hoping we can all come together to beat last year’s all time high donation record ($225,000) . I’ve been passionate about this group because 100% of the donations ACTUALLY go to the charities, and your donation would help support this cause. RNA prides itself on their motto of “driving for a cause” and proves that a lot of good can come from being involved in an automotive hobby. Want to get involved and help out? RNA has donated to many wonderful charities, this year’s benefactor, Camp Sunshine, is an amazing place. Camp Sunshine provides retreats combining respite, recreation, and support, while enabling hope and promoting joy for children with life-threating illnesses and their families. Camp Sunshine’s program is offered year-round hand and has the distinction of having been designed to serve the entire family in a retreat model. The program is free of charge to families and includes on-site medical support. Bereavement sessions are also offered for families who have experienced the loss of a child from a supported illness. Carrying out this mission can be expensive, and we want to do our part to help this organization raise the money that it needs to make it happen. It’s incredible to see 85+ teams come together, and raise money to support such a noble clause, and we’d like your help in doing the same. It’s no surprise I’m a bit competitive, even if it’s a “who can raise the most money for a charity” and if you feel compelled or are able to make a donation of any size, we’d love your help. And you can rest assured that your money will be well spent, and spent in full on what it was meant for. Starting order (and bragging rights) in the rally is based on levels of funds raised by the teams.  Help us get to the front of the pack!

The rally isn’t all about raising money for the charities (ok…maybe it is) but we also have a blast on these trips. A scavenger hunt / checkpoint style ‘game’ is played all week, where the organizers of RNA take you on some amazing roads to see some incredible sights along the way. It’s a great way to see the country, explore some places I’d never seek out on my own, and make life-lasting friendships along the way. The silver lining here is even on this amazing trip, we are still able to raise money for those in need. Each team decals their cars up with the friends and businesses of those who have donated on their behalf, and oftentimes dress up in costumes. A few years back, RNA caught the attention of MavTV and now has its own TV-show. Last year, myself and teammates were asked to have ourselves and our cars filmed as leads for the show. It was a little wild seeing myself and my car on TV, but I loved seeing the recognition go to the charities and those that supported us. I’m attaching a few screenshots below just to show you how wild it really was!

This event takes a lot of planning, hard work, and energy. I’m happy to do so as I am passionate about the cause, but none of this matters without donations for the charity.
